Odin
|
Simulation and Training | Hydroacoustics |
Odin is an underwater warfare simulation environment. It was designed to simulate the detailed interaction between underwater objects, whilst retaining a sufficiently fast running speed to enable multiple engagement Monte Carlo effectiveness studies to be performed. It has ability to correctly handle multi-static acoustics within the underwater environment, using multiple sonars and reflectors. |

Osmosis
|
Infrared and Thermal |
Osmosis computes the temperatures in near real-time and handles in thermal calculations the surface emissivity as a function of wavelength, temperature, and orientation of an optical beam incident upon the surface. Osmosis performing 1D optimized thermal modeling.
It was initially developed for testing the effectiveness of methods for increasing the infrared stealthiness of ships, i.e. for reducing their infrared signature. This implies computing the evolution of these signatures with time. Compared to other softwares assuming constant emissivity, Osmosis uses parametric emissivity. The emissivity is function of the surface temperature, the direction of arrival of the IR wave, and the wavelength. |
