Pansail
|
Sails and Rigging | Vortex Lattice |
PANSAIL is a vortex-lattice code that has been optimized for use in the design and analysis of yacht sails. It is able to calculate the pressure distribution on either side of a thin surface so that a boundary layer calculation can be performed to predict the viscous drag on the sail and the onset of flow separation and lift loss. |

PostProcessing |
ParaView is an application for visualizing two and three dimensional data sets. The platforms supported by ParaView range from single-processor workstations to multiple-processor distributed-memory supercomputers or workstation clusters.
Using a parallel machine, ParaView can process very large data sets in parallel and later collect the results. The size of the data sets ParaView can handle varies widely depending on the architecture on which the application is run. |

Paris Simulator
|
Special Purpose CFD |
PARIS Simulator (PArallel Robust Interface Simulator) combines the Volume-Of-Fluid (VOF) and Front-Tracking methods to create simulations of interfacial fluid flow, such as droplets, bubbles or waves. It computes complex flows such as fast atomizing jets and has a Lagrangian point particle option. |

CFD for Ship Motions and Maneuvering | Strip Theory |
PDStrip (Public Domain Strip) computes the seakeeping of ships and other floating bodies according to the strip method. Responses in regular waves are given as response amplitude operators.
PDStrip has been written in Fortran 90/95. It can handle unsymmetrical bodies including heeled ships. Forces on fins or sails can be taken into account. |

Electromagnetics | PO |
POFacets is an implementation of the physical optics approximation for predicting the radar cross section (RCS) of complex objects. It utilizes the scientific computational features of commercial code MatLab and its GUI functions. The Physical Optics (PO) approximation is one of the RCS prediction methods for an arbitrary three-dimensional target. |

Pointwise
|
PreProcessing | Structured Mesher | Unstructured Mesher |
Pointwise provides hexahedral and tetrahedral meshes. Also these meshes can be interfaced in several ways to form a hybrid grid. Using Pointwise geometry kernel, CAD data can be imported from native and standard formats, work with both analytic (i.e. NURBS) and faceted (e.g. STL) geometry representations. The mesh and its boundary conditions may be exported to open-source, commercial, and standard CFD formats. |
